drop shoulder sweater

remember when I started this ?

...I just finished it :) oh, yeah.

inspiration&realisation
It all started with my intention to reduce my stash.
As a matter of fact, I had this yarn for the past 2 years or so, and I've started and unravelled several things with it.
Sometimes you need to be in the right mood, you know.

Funny enough, this is a very simple pattern, and happens to be also a knockoff of the Stella McCartney drop shoulder sweater currently in stores for as little as 695 bucks.

--> knock-it-off yourself :)

I used 7 balls (I looked up in their website, and now they sells this cotton in much bigger balls, I had the old version 2.5 oz / 70.9 g)  of worsted white cotton (I'm a size 2) knitted on a 5 1/2 mm needles
(label says 4 1/2 mm, but I have a very tight "hand")

sugar'n cream Lily cotton

It's a very easy pattern, suitable for beginners:

* front & back: cast on 109 stitches (or 29")
* work in 1:1 rib for 10 rows
* work on stockinette for : back 106 rows (or 21")
front 88 rows and then start decreasing for collar: 29 stitches in the middle and 7 decreases on each side of the collar every other row and last 4 rows without decreasing
* bind off and stitch together the shoulders (33 stitches), or
  like I did, do the three needles bind off
sleeves: cast on 41 stitches (or 10")
* work in 1:1 rib for 10 rows
* work on stockinette for 34 rows (or 8"),
  increasing 5 stitches on each side every 6 rows (51 stitches at
  the top of the sleeves or 13")
* bind off and sew
* collar: cast on 96 stitches on a circular needle
* work in 1:1 rib for 8 rows
* bind off and sew on your sweater

... I feel like I just saved 695$ :)
