As usual, I did it my way, and in less than one hour!
inspiration&realisation |
* two different colors nylon rope at your hardware store
* a spring clasp
* two split rings
* 5 ft of thin metal chain
* a big crochet hook (mine is 6mm)
* threads in matching colors of your ropes
* needle, scissors & pliers
* some sort of fire (stove, matches or lighter)
inspiration&realisation |
* crochet 25 chain stitches
* chain 2 (this will be your first double crochet)
* crochet in double crochet until the end of the row
* bind off leaving about 2"

inspiration&realisation |
* change color and start to crochet slip stitches on the side/edge of your double crochets
* crochet 3 slip stitches on the side
(in this way you will find your crochet on the chain stitches that you started with)

inspiration&realisation |
* chain 2
* skip 1, slip stitch 1, chain 2 - repeat until the end of the row

inspiration&realisation |
* slip stitch 3 on the side edge
* bind off leaving about 2"
..... you should have something like this:
inspiration&realisation |
* pul the top of the nylon cord slightly so that the inner part will be exposed
* cut about 1/2" of the white inner part
inspiration&realisation |
inspiration&realisation |
* melt the edge just going close to the fire
inspiration&realisation |
inspiration&realisation |
* repeat this operation for all the 'tails'
* take your chain and attach one end to the safety pin
inspiration&realisation |
inspiration&realisation |
* when you have reached the end, leave 6" of chain
inspiration&realisation |
inspiration&realisation |
* and the other split ring on the other side (my clasp has a "figure 8" ring for closure, so I attached that with the split ring)
inspiration&realisation |
wear it with pride!
ADVISE:
this DIY is addicting, I know you'll make matching bracelets, and get nylon cords in every color!
